Since the moment we start our dive we become one more element of marine ecosystems, as we interact with their components. It is paramount, then, to have an attititude of respect towards all that surround us.

Find below some basic guidelines to make your diving experience as less impacting to the marine environment as possible:

+ Do not damage sea-bottom. Try to find neutral buoyancy so you cannot harm marine flora and fauna with yout finning.

+ Do not touch living organisms. They can be extremely fragile and delicate.

+ Do not move bottom rocks. Plenty of life may be depending on their position and habitats could remain modified.

+ Do not feed fish. Their behaviour and diet could be altered.

+ Do not remove bottom organisms.

+ Avoid anchoring on fragile organisms (coralligenous, Posidonia oceanica...). Anchor on sandy bottoms or use mooring buoys if available.

+ Do not dive often in caves. Bubbles create small gaseous cavities on the ceiling that may harm organisms living there.

+ Join a diving club or association. It is the fastest and easiest way to learn and make diving friends.
